The roots of my cooking style is definitely Asian, Hawaiian and French. Hawaiian and Asian food has been a part of my family for generations. I grew up eating both for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. My knowledge on French Cuisine started when I moved to L.A and has greatly influenced me. French techniques are used in so many other cuisines, having that knowledge is key since French cooking is the grand daddy of the culinary world. The main focus on my cooking style though, would be that I do 90% of my shopping at local farmers markets. The prices are so much better as is the quality of the food. My menus are all fresh and organic ingredients!
I fell in love with the culinary world from as far back as I can remember, growing up cooking and baking, was not only a part of my culture but something I knew I had always wanted to do. So I started my cooking career at the age of 17, back home on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Starting from the bottom as a dishwasher, I quickly worked my way onto the line with the big Chefs. In 2013 I moved out here to Los Angeles, to further pursue my culinary dreams. Having worked at over 13 restaurants, a couple of bakery's and even Motion Picture Catering for the movie stars. I can cook almost any cuisine you desire but make it all Vegetarian or Vegan. A lot of people believe that once you go Veg you're food horizon becomes so much smaller but its not all Kale and Quinoa, you can still have all of your favorites. Rather that be a burger, to a French Coq Au Vin. You can make make anything if you have the skill and technique!
