Diego De Baets is a Belgian chef, born on the Belgian coast, now active in Bruges. He trained at the Spermalie hotel school and gained experience in top kitchens, including Gordon Ramsay, Sel Gris, Bartholomeus and PureC. After opening as a private chef for a few years, he was noticed as one of the ‘rising stars’ in Belgian gastronomy. He was nominated as a promising talent by Bart Desmidt of njam! .
Diego is currently the owner and chef of Atelier D The Bistro in Bruges, a refined à la carte bistro restaurant with Franco-Belgian cuisine. His style is praised for authentic flavours, memorable sauces and big, bold flavours. Guests and critics praise his personal approach, refined cooking style and high product quality.
